帕特纳德的房子有一半位于美国纽约州，另一半位于加拿大魁北克省，他因此做起代收包裹的生意，把美国联邦快递（FedEx）或联合包裹（UPS）经由房子后门送来的包裹，经前门递交给加拿大的收件者。
